At Dixons Unity Academy, NSPN funding is enhancing the school’s existing family support offer. After consulting families, the school designed a token-based pantry model that prioritises choice – £1 offers 10 tokens, with items priced at one or two tokens, while fresh fruit, vegetables, and bread remain free so no one goes without.
The pantry acts as a gateway to wider support, including heating and finance advice, and links with local organisations such as Yum Kitchen and the New Wortley Community Centre.
