We are delighted to announce that the National School Pantry Network has been named a finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2026!
This nomination recognises a film that shares the Network’s mission: to support schools in providing consistent, dignified access to nutritious food for children and families. It’s a story about connection, community and collective action, one that goes beyond meals to highlight resilience, choice and long-term wellbeing.
Across the UK, classrooms are stepping up to respond to food insecurity in their local communities. Teachers, support staff and families have opened their doors and their hearts, turning school spaces into hubs of support. The National School Pantry Network was created to support that work with structure, resources and shared learning, so that no school is alone in the effort and every family has access to the food they need.
Being a finalist in the Smi
ley Charity Film Awards is a huge moment for us. It shows that stories like ours…real, human and rooted in community, can resonate far beyond the schools we serve. It validates the experiences of students, parents and educators who have shared their voices and reminds us that impactful storytelling can cha
nge minds and influence action.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this story, our schools, families, partners and supporters. This recognition belongs to all of you.
Thank you to Smiley Movement for celebrating stories that uplift and connect us. Here’s to sharing even more of them.
